The Catholic community in Vasilishki appeared in 1652, in 1658 a Dominican monastery was founded here, in which a wooden church was built. The stone baroque church that we see today was built in 1769. After the suppression of the gentry uprising in 1830, like many other Catholic churches on the territory of modern Belarus, it was transferred to the Orthodox and converted as an Orthodox church, in 1919 it was returned to the Catholics. In 1922-1928 it was reconstructed. After the Great Patriotic War it was closed, in 1980 it was returned to believers.

The temple is a monument of late baroque architecture. The main altar of the temple is richly decorated with stucco, in its center is the painting "The Baptism of the Lord". In total, there are 7 altars in the interior of the church, made in the Rococo style. Stone altars are stylized as pink and blue marble, decorated with gilded stucco. The temple is surrounded by a rubble stone fence with three-arched gates.

The temple was not spared by the legendary events of 1863. The rector of the Vasilishkovsky parish, Syrvind, was arrested for participating in the national liberation uprising.
