One of the oldest churches on the island stands on a medieval trade route. The Michaelis Church was mentioned in a document as early as 1230. The new building from 1260/70 is made of brick. In order to found a monastery, Pomeranian Duke Bogislav IV gave the church to his daughter Jutta, a Cistercian, in 1302. Today it is the only monastery on the island. In the 15th century it received a late Gothic choir. King Friedrich Wilhelm IV had the tower built in 1856/57. A Marian altar has been preserved in Stettin. The cross on today's altar dates from the 15th century. The boxes in the choir, one with the coat of arms of the Corswants, are special. In the church treasure there is a decorated chalice from around 1500 - today in the Pomeranian State Museum in Greifswald.
