The Santa Maria della Scala museum complex is spread over several floors and houses various areas.

The archaeological section is logically located in the basement.

Frankly, I think it is the least significant part of the complex.

The reconstructions of the evolution of the urban structure of Siena are interesting, but the actual finds, mainly sarcophagi and vases from the Etruscan and Roman periods, are not very numerous and in my opinion they have more historical and documentary value than artistic.

In any case, it is worth a visit because it is included in the entrance fee of € 14 and is valid for the entire complex of the civic museums of Siena.
