The Fine river ideally divides the so-called "Spiagge Bianche" (White Beaches) into a large southern area in the direction of Vada and a northern one that reaches the outskirts of Rosignano. Both are located in an area mainly occupied by the pipelines of the nearby Solvay industrial plant and therefore largely inaccessible, except for a couple of walkways that lead directly to the beach; this one, bleached by the soda produced by Solvay and despite the toxic residues present in the sand and in the surrounding waters, in summer is very popular with Italian and foreign tourists for its "Caribbean" appearance (white sand and emerald green or cobalt blue sea), but it is perhaps even more beautiful in winter, when it appears silent under a gloomy sky, deserted as far as the eye can see and inhabited only by a few trunks brought ashore by the undertow.
From Rosignano Solvay access is from the Lillatro beach, just after crossing a canal that directly connects the factory with the sea and where, despite the prohibitions, it is common to see young people bathing.
