Beautifully landscaped spring park that invites you to take a break. You can also use a Kneipp pool. A Sauerbrunnen was first mentioned in a document in the small valley in the middle of the 16th century. The sources continue to shape its history to this day. The economic use of the Kronthal began with the discovery of the healing properties of the water by the Kronberg medical officer Ferdinand Küster in 1818. He had the first springs surrounded and smaller spa facilities built. In 1823, the Frankfurt merchant Johann Adam Osterrieth came onto the scene and set up a stock corporation to compete with the existing spa facilities.
Around 1840, the Kronthal experienced a heyday and was known far beyond today's national borders. It was also Osterrieth who had a spacious spa park created in the style of an English landscape garden. The bottling operation in Kronthal was discontinued in 2005. Today you can still draw mineral water yourself from two springs.

It is always worth stopping here:

      1. The drinking bottle can be filled from two sources.
      2. A Kneipp foot bath is always good for you.

Around 1837, the Kronthal at the foot of the Altkönig was transformed into an English-style spa park. The park was a popular motif of the Kronberg painting colony, but was overgrown by the vegetation of the Taunus forests over time. Today, the upper meadow valley and the old path system are partially exposed again, and the element of water shows next to the mineral springs also in the disclosed Hollerborn and Badbach.
