Holy Spirit Church

In 1911 the colored windows were installed in the apse. It shows the ascension of Christ and the four evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The poet and travel writer Theodor Fontane made the painting "Christ as Pharmacist" widely known through his wanderings through the Mark Brandenburg.

A visit to the Heilig-Geist-Kirche is not to be missed. It is already the third church at this point on the city's island.
Between 1856 and 1858 the current building was erected in the Gothic style with a Latin cross plan. 1980 became the exterior and 1989 to 1994
the interior reconstructed.

The Protestant Church of the Holy Spirit is a neo-Gothic building in Werder, a town in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district. The church is considered a landmark of the island and is visible from afar; Theodor Fontane called it a small town cathedral when viewed from a distance.
