From Borovets you can take the train to the Yastrebetz hut daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (Monday and Tuesday until 5:30 p.m.) and from there you can follow the trail to the top. The tickets are pretty cheap. From the cabin you have a good view around.
