    The easiest way to access the Forrawaal is to walk up from the Aussereggen-Hof (there are a few parking spaces) first on a farm track and then on a footpath. In contrast to the Neuwaal below, the Forrawaal is regularly in operation. You need a head for heights to walk (as with the Neuwaal). The path as such is in very good shape. Just below the Schlanderer Alm, the Forrawaal branches off from a tributary to the Schlandraunbach. A way back to Aussereggen via the Neuwaal results in a beautiful, not strenuous circular hike.

      I am pretty sure that some of the pictures shown here under Forrawaal are from the Neuwaal. In my opinion, the most exciting is the Talatschwaal, the lowest of the three canals. Unfortunately, we were not able to walk the Forrawaal.
