The monastery in Bevreti is hidden behind a less remarkable wall. Once you have left the village, continue on the gravel road. If you were dropped off here without first seeing how to get here, you would think you were somewhere high in the mountains. Certainly not in the backyard of Tbilisi. In any case, you have to reckon with the occasional car coming by.
Instead of climbing up the serpentines, you can branch off into the forest. After heavy rain, however, crossing the river can be problematic here.
