The Grunwaldsbrücke is a suspension bridge and was called Kaiser- or Freiheitsbrücke until 1945 (from 1924-33).
In 1910 it was presented to the public in the presence of Kaiser Wilhlem II. It should serve to better connect the old and new town.
Even by today's standards, it is still an imposing and massive bridge.
