    Tips

    July 31, 2022

The path passes under the First and Second Little Brothers and the Little Brothers' Boat appears. The descent takes advantage of the dihedral fissure on the left, there are good holds for feet and hands and without vertigo and good concentration you can go down without the need for a rope or rappelling. The most exposed and dangerous step is the first, at the entrance to the plate, just to reach the fissure in the dihedral. The climbing route of the normal Third Little Brother route appears later, through a combination of cracks and fourth-grade ledges. The path passes through the gate (2,281 m) sculpted between the Tercer Hermanito and El Perro que Fuma and continues along some shelves of loose rock until it emerges on the scree of the Portilla de los Machos. The ascent to Peñón del Casquerazo (2,436 m) is optional, the climb follows a fairly obvious rocky channel on the northeast face and then along some blocks (II) to the summit. The descent is through the same place.

The path passes the foot of the northeast face of Casquerazo and climbs to the Portilla de los Machos hill to begin the journey of the rugged and spectacular Cuchillar de las Navajas. In this sector there are several aerial passes at the beginning and then the famous Thermopylae Pass, also known as Devil's Bridge or Sagrao Pass, is a narrow shelf that can present complications with poor visibility or wet rock. The highlight is almost at the end of Cuchillar de las Navajas, before descending to the Portilla Bermeja pass. The journey goes down a few meters along the scree of the Portilla Bermeja canal and makes a journey to the left to enter the narrow Portilla del Crampón canal, where the normal Almanzor route goes up and down.
