Wenzelmauer, this part of the city wall served as protection for the inhabitants of the valley and is popularly known as the Wenzelmauer. It included the so-called lower city and the higher Rham plateau in the city's defensive ring. The wall was originally 875 m long and included 37 towers and 15 gates. A round trip through the medieval tower of the "Stierchen" takes us to the river and allows, extra muros, an impressive view over part of the ring wall.
