There is a lot to see on the Unstrut cycle path from Artern - Bottendorf and, among other things, I had special animal experiences.
To name just a few: the Ritteburg weir, Kyffhäuser, floodplain landscape, Bottendorf hills, deer, rabbits, swans, ducks, kite, buzzard and, if you're lucky, maybe even beavers.
Shortly before Bottendorf you pass a kind of ark for animals.
Directly on the Unstrut in Bottendorf there is a nice rest area with great seating and information boards.
On the right side is the copper smelter/mill and museum. A very nice facility. You can, among other things, camp here only from April onwards for €7.00 (still!) per person/night. Then you can also use sanitary facilities and some indoor spaces. On the left you cross the bridge and you are immediately in Bottendorf.
As a further recommendation I can recommend the Bottendorfer Hügel. In spring/summer many beautiful plants bloom in all their splendor.
The twin lambs were born on March 18, 23, shortly before I left.
