The new bike path along Kuckumer Str. (which was closed to cars on July 28th, 2022) is complete and passable (Google Maps and the Komoot bike map are out of date). It has excellent asphalt and small quirks do not matter. Nice piece to step on the gas again before Garzweiler, until the eerie view of the big black hole opens up.
