The Gsaffenberg itself has little to offer for cyclists, after all, the place serves children for holiday camps. In the city forest, however, there are many beautiful ways to drive, mostly shady but often mountainous. There are plenty of views of Heilbronn and the surrounding area.

Europe's largest forest home for children's camps was built on the Heilbronn Gaffenberg by the Evangelical Church. The first children's camps go back to 1927, when there were already 200 children. The idea was to offer big city children a rest on the outskirts. This idea still applies today, but the summer camps have been attended by around 2,200 children in two leisure groups in recent years (due to the corona, 2020 is an exception here).

Today the Waldheim is a large, fenced-in facility consisting of several playgrounds, seating, sanitary facilities, accommodation buildings and kitchens, as well as event buildings and a stage with a large tent roof. In addition to the children's camps, the Gaffenberg Festival, which used to take place here annually, is particularly well known.

When the leisure area is open, children can let off steam in several playgrounds, otherwise there isn't too much to see. A sports course starts on the west side of the forest car park in front of the Gaffenberg site (in the direction of Wilhelm-Mattes-Weg), otherwise there are trips to the city forest of Heilbronn and the highly recommended Köpfertal.

A useful facility for children who can spend 1-2 weeks here, mainly during the summer holidays.
