    Tips

The Bergkirchner See is an insider tip and impresses with its turquoise water. It may be small, but it offers a lawn for sunbathing, a guest house and beautiful views.

The lake looks beautiful, but always has problems with blue-green algae in the summer.

        Good for a refreshing dip.

        For your information:

There are three bathing lakes in the municipality.

        Bergkirchner See

        at the sports ground

        Neuhimmelreich bathing lake

at the entrance to the town coming from Günding

        Eisolzrieder See

It is located around 2.5 km southwest of Bergkirchen, next to the motorway bridge on the municipal road from Eisolzried in the direction of Bergkirchen-Lus. As part of the development measures for the new GADA industrial estate, the lake in the immediate vicinity was expanded in terms of area. By purchasing additional land, the existing area was roughly doubled, so that the total area is now around 8.9 hectares (water surface 3.25 hectares). In the future, a kiosk, sanitary facilities and around 320 parking spaces will be available to bathers.

After the water and sunbathing area have been enlarged, the connection to the cycle path network and a sewage canal connection has been provided, this recreation area will be placed under the control of the Association for the Safeguarding of Regional Recreation Areas in the Districts Around Munich e. V., so that the proper use and operation of this bathing lake is maintained. This expansion is intended to create a recreation area not only for employees in the neighboring industrial area, but for the entire western Munich region.

A large recreation area was created a few years ago in the south of our community, between Birkenhof and Langwieder See. The initiator is the Association for the Safeguarding of Regional Recreation Areas in the Districts Around Munich e. V., of which the municipality of Bergkirchen is also a member. The Langwieder See and the Lußsee were created during the construction of the A8 and A99 motorways in the years 1935 to 1938 and 1995 to 2000 respectively. The Birkensee was created by removing gravel for the Olching - Trudering freight bypass in 1938.

The recultivation measures resulted in a recreational area that leaves almost nothing to be desired. The Birkensee from the Bergkirchen municipal area is incorporated into this lake area.
