Perhaps the architect who most strongly influenced Worpswede is the expressionist Bernhard Hoetger. In addition to the architecturally daring "coffee", which originally served primarily as an exhibition space for his own works, Niedersachsenstein on Weyerberg also came from him.

Meanwhile, the coffee is a restaurant of fine gastronomy. Even those who prefer to sit outside in good weather should take a look inside: in the center of the interior, a wooden sculpture with four arms protruding into the room rises. "Weltenesche" she called Hoetger. Nordic-Germanic culture he mixes in this sculpture with African fertility symbols.

The former café of Worpswede was soon given the name "Café Crazy" due to its unorthodox architecture. It is also worthwhile to walk around the building once, because on the rear façade the brickwork with the brick jumping back and forth is clearly visible.

On the way from the parking lot to the coffee there is also the sculpture "Bonze des Humors" by Hoetger, who was not only an architect but also a sculptor, painter and artisan.
