The elevator takes you up to a height of approximately 80 meters. The glass sphere you enter is covered in 24-carat gold, hence its golden color.
This tower was designated a landmark of the 1982 World's Fair, and the surrounding park is very well preserved and clean.

The Sunsphere was built for the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville. It provides views of the city and the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains from the top of a four-story tower. You can lock your bike up and venture to the top for $5.
