Hiking
on the High Rhine to near Pforzheim. This so-called “front line” consisted of different defensive installations such as Schanzen (= “Schänzle”) or Verhau en, which were connected to one another. This should stop potential attackers. Indeed it came here
but never to military conflicts.
Today, since July 23, 2022, the Austrian flag has been flying here again and it is a wonderful place to take a break.
