    golf course

With the Taunus panorama and the Feldberg in view, our 18-hole championship course offers both sporty, ambitious golfers and recreational players optimal playing pleasure. Guests with a handicap of up to -54, on weekends and public holidays with a handicap of usually up to -36 are welcome.

The large greens are of traditionally excellent quality. The length of the course of over 6,200 meters, numerous bunkers and several water hazards require a precise game. For several years, fairway irrigation has ensured lush green fairways even in midsummer.

The 6-hole short course with its up to 156 m long par 3 holes is ideal for beginners with a course permit or short course permit, who can have their first golf course experience here. It is also very popular with passionate golfers who don't have much time.

All golf beginners are welcome to try their first shots on our driving range. (Source: hofhausen.golf/golfanlage/)

History of the Hof Hausen mansion in front of the sun

The historic site of Hof Hausen was first mentioned in 1360 as part of an inheritance dispute. A document shows that at the end of the 13th century "Heinrich Fleming and Frauwe Margrede held the farm in Fleminghusen", which passed to their children after their death.

In 1426 Flemingshusen changed hands. Initially, ownership passed to the Lords of Eppstein and from 1492 the Landgraves of Upper Hesse-Marburg and nobles from the line of Landgraves of Hesse-Kassel called the farm their own.
The Johann Milch family has been able to run the farm since 1672 thanks to a letter of inheritance from the Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel. The construction activities of the Milch family were significant for the farm and are still clearly visible in the complex today. The cider cellar on the Hofinsel from 1760, the manor house from 1776 and the keystone on the archway with the year 1807 and the initials "PM" for Peter Christian Milch bear witness to this construction activity.

The family managed the farm until 1911 and sold it, after they had already bought their freedom from the hereditary loan in 1874, to the Hofheim medical officer Dr. Max Schulze-Kahleyss. His son, Werner Schulze - Kahleyß, leased the farm and agricultural land to Hof Hausen vor der Sonne Golf AG in 1996. The agricultural land was used to build an 18-hole golf course, which was completed in the summer of 2000.
In 2007, Hof Hausen vor der Sonne Golf AG renovated the manor house, which dates back to the Baroque period, in close cooperation with the Office for Monument Protection, in order to be able to use it as a restaurant with club rooms. Many specialists contributed their knowledge to create an attractive design; so analyzed z. B. a color restorer the many exterior coats with the aim of reconstructing the original color, which was then used.

It is not proven, but it is assumed that the Romans already had their accommodations on this site, since the location allowed a wide view in all directions.

The notorious robber captain Johannes Bückler, called "Schinderhannes" is said to have taken refuge from his pursuers from Mainz in 1802 on the Hessian Hof Hausen (source: restaurant-im-herrenhaus.de/geschichte-des-herrenhaus/)

There is also a restaurant on site, which can be visited without being a member of the golf club.
