Very nice cycle path along the Weser-Datteln Canal with a great view. A short detour to the Lippe or Halterner See is worthwhile. There is also a Lippe ferry nearby.

The Wesel-Datteln Canal is a federal waterway in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and, after the Rhine, the busiest waterway in Germany. The shipping canal runs through the northern Ruhr area and connects the Rhine near Wesel with the Dortmund-Ems Canal at the Datteln waterway junction. The 60 km long canal runs parallel to the south of the Lippe in its immediate vicinity.

The Wesel-Datteln Canal has well-developed bike paths (gravel) on both banks. The disadvantage is the often many flies.
