In the years 1886 to 1889, St. Maria Immaculata was built by Wilhelm Rincklake for the family that owned the estate next to the church after a family member had survived a long sea voyage. The church was expanded again around 1900.

The church was built in the years 1886-1889 for the owner family of the estate next to the church in thanks to a well-traveled longer sea voyage of a family member. Today it serves as a "branch church" of the parish of St. Martin in Raesfeld.
