Naustadt was first mentioned in documents in 1312 as "Nuenstat", which means new town. The village was administered by the Meißen hereditary office. The lords of Scharfenberg Castle exercised the manorial lordship. There was already a parish church in the village around 1500, and a farm was first documented in 1723. In 1900, the village had 457 hectares of block, field and strip fields. On July 1, 1950, it was incorporated into Scharfenberg[1], which, together with the villages of Klipphausen and Gauernitz, has formed the municipality of Klipphausen since January 1, 1999[2]. During the GDR era, a radio technical company of the NVA with a helicopter landing pad was located a few hundred meters west of the town of Naustadt. The Saxony police now operate the central dog training school for their service dogs on the site. (Source: Wikipedia)
