Sljeme, at 3,396 feet (1,035 m), is Medvednica’s highest point ('sljeme' means 'summit' in Croatian). An icon of Zagreb, it's adorned by the OIV Tower, which is home to a panoramic observation deck for views across the Zagorje region and even as far as Slovenia's mountains. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in the vicinity of the summit too.

Sljeme is the peak of Medvednica, a mountain above Zagreb. It is located at 1033 meters above sea level. An asphalted road leads to Sljemen, numerous footpaths, and from 1963 to 2007 the Sljemen cable car was in operation. Sljeme is one of the favorite picnic spots of the people of Zagreb. There is also a ski slope on Sljemen, which is one of the locations for World Ski Cup races (Snežna kraljica). At the very top is the RTV tower, 169 meters high, which was built in 1973.

Sljeme is the name for the highest peak of the Medvednica mountain and for the ridge that resembles the ridge of a roof because it steeply separates the southern Zagreb from the northern Zagorje slope. The top itself has the shape of a plateau, on the edge of which stands a television tower, clearly visible from both Zagreb and Zagorje. The peak itself is located 50 m further along a well-maintained path that leads to the upper stations of the newer three-seater cable car and the "anchor" on Činovnička livada. At the top is also the house of the HGSS a Zagreb station, several ski huts and catering facilities Vidikovac and Zlatni mevdjev.

      Coordinates N 45° 53' 57.4'' E 15° 56' 50.6''

The metal mark of the peak is on the advertising board near the television tower at the very top, and the other mark is in the nearby restaurant Zlatni mevjed.

The top of Medvednica is extremely easily accessible from all sides - both for mountaineers and hikers. Tomislav's house (10' from the top) and the upper station of the Sljemen cable car (5' from the top) can be reached by car. Due to dilapidation, the cable car is no longer in operation, but it is replaced by a regular bus line that starts at the Mihaljevac terminal in the northern part of Zagreb. Several dozens of marked hiking trails lead to Sljemen from Zagreb and from the Zagorje side. The most popular climbs are the Leustek route from Tunel in Dolje or Gračan, the Bikčević path via Puntijarka, and the climbs from Šestin via Kraljičina zdenca and Medvedgrad. The easiest is the shortest of these climbs along the Leustek path.
