Hiking
As the former border river of the inner-German border, much of the river's originality has been preserved. In the first few kilometers in particular, the Wakenitz meanders picturesquely through alder forests.
Attractive as canoeing area or for hikes along the Wakenitz on the "Drägerweg" there are many delightful sights and views of the river and the landscape.
