The cemetery of Monte Campigoletti, one of the most scenic and evocative examples of burials on the front line of the Great War, collected the bodies of 423 Austor-Hungarian soldiers and, in the adjacent sinkhole transformed into an ossuary, 400 Italian soldiers (including 7 who died from the white death ).
The human bones mixed with grenade splinters found in the area and placed at the foot of the cross (the stone cross, behind the cemetery-amphitheatre) are impressive.
