The Wolkenburg mill can look back on a history spanning more than 500 years.
It was first mentioned in a document in a letter of enfeoffment for Hans von Maltitz on November 6, 1472.

In earlier centuries, the mill was not only a grinding mill, but also a
cutting mill, oil mill and paint mill.
A bakery was also part of the mill operation. It was located in the corner of the house and stable building. After the fire in 1889, it was no longer in operation.
