It is located at about 1,700 meters above sea level and probably takes its name from a spring (or "fonte") present on site, with the term "Tana" which could refer to a natural cavity or an ancient toponym linked to the place.Fonte Tana is immersed in a suggestive landscape context, characterized by larch woods and alpine pastures. It is a destination frequented by hikers, cyclists and nature enthusiasts thanks to its strategic position along some panoramic itineraries that connect Thures to other areas of the valley. The location is also a point of passage for those exploring the paths that lead to the Colle di Thures or the surrounding mountains.
