On the top of the mountain a church was erected in memory of the victims of the serious accident which in 2003 cost the lives of the six occupants of a helicopter. Four skiers, their mountain guide and the pilot of the aircraft lost their lives in the crash of the vehicle that took place near the nearby Punta Ciatagnera.
The small building can, if necessary, act as an emergency shelter.
