Large town church in the middle of the beautiful half-timbered old town.

The construction of the church, financed by indulgences, began at Easter in 1477. During the great city fire in 1634, almost the entire city was destroyed, including a large part of the church. The nave and church tower burned down; only the choir vaults survived. The rebuilding of the church lasted until 1660, about twenty-five years.
The previous buildings were demolished before the respective new buildings: The Franconian wooden church was built in the 12th/13th. Century replaced by a stone building in the Hohenstaufen fortified church style.

Construction began in 1477 and was designed as a three-aisled hall church with a choir and a tower. After the city fire in 1634, only the choir, the Chapel of St. Mary and the walls of the nave remained undamaged. Reconstruction took place between 1643 and 1660.
