The Granzin Mill is a historic watermill on the Havel River near Kratzeburg. First documented in 1325, it is considered one of the oldest milling sites in Mecklenburg. In 1472, the mill was donated to the Order of St. John in Mirow. From the 18th century onward, the mill was leased on a long-term lease. Picturesquely situated, it is now a popular destination for nature lovers and cyclists. A detour to the mill during a cycling tour through the Müritz National Park is particularly appealing. Since the Havel River is not navigable at this point, canoes must be carried a short distance – a small trolley railway is provided for this purpose.
