The Mauresgebirge lives up to its name. The pass road leads through dark "black" forests, narrow and little used. Chestnuts and oaks as far as the eye can see. The detour to the church "Notre Dame des Anges" is worthwhile, if only because of the view of the approaching Mediterranean Sea.
