We still don't know too much about the origin of the Marian column with the statue of the Virgin Mary - we still don't know for sure when the column stood on Kunštát Square and who had it built. The original Marian statue from the square was most likely preserved in the rectory and is currently located in the axis of its main corridor. It is a figure approximately one meter high, made of rough-hewn stone, bearing numerous signs of weather erosion. With a certain amount of caution, it is possible to judge that the brick plinth of the column was secondarily used as a plinth for the cross standing next to the church, where it still serves today. However, if it were possible to substantiate this assumption, then the only thing that would be completely missing today is the stone column itself.
