a short boat ride shortens about 600m of hiking trail. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth it. It is not particularly expensive:

Status 2022: there and back

Adults: 60 NOK

Children: 40 NOK

We made it as a little treat for our kids. Especially on the way back from the glacier, where it's slightly downhill, a fit hiker is no slower than someone who had to wait three minutes for the boat.

Note: the glacier itself cannot be reached by boat. From the pier at the glacier it is also a 30-40 minute hike up to the edge of the glacier.

We also took the boat shuttle today, but mainly because after the last few days of rain it looked like our feet weren't going to stay dry and we didn't have our hiking boots on (still damp from the last tour).
