    Nepomuk Chapel, Wels

A baroque chapel dedicated to St. Nepomuk is reminiscent of the rafting tradition in Wels. Saint John of Nepomuk was also the patron saint of raftsmen. Gottlieb Nester donated the Nepomuk statue around 1718, which was then installed in 1732 in the wayside chapel erected by the Flösserzeche. After a restoration in 1964, the chapel was rotated 90 degrees. The Trauntor was also in this area at the time.

The Nepomuk Chapel is a baroque chapel in Wels dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. He was the patron saint of the raftsmen who used to transport wood on the Traun. The chapel was built in 1732 by the raftsman's mine and restored in 1964 and rotated 90 degrees. It is on the south side of the house at Traungasse 12, where the Trauntor also stood.

The chapel is a testimony to the rafting tradition in Wels and a beautiful example of baroque architecture. You can visit the chapel and admire the Nepomuk statue, which was donated by Gottlieb Nester around 1718.
