The Lago Cingino reservoir is known for the fact that ibexes climb the almost vertical dam wall here to lick salt from the rock.

We were able to observe a magnificent ibex and four stone goats (Mr. Steinbock's wives), some from a few meters away. The difficult hike (1250 hm) was worth it.

The starting point is Alpe Russi on Lago di Antrona, from there it is about 300 meters in altitude to the Lago Campliccioli reservoir.
Flat along the lake, then an easy path with an increase in altitude of up to approx. 1650 m but fantastic landscape.
Almost at the end of the valley, the main climb begins up to 2250hm, strenuous but interesting.

Overnight at Bivacco Cingino,
Self-catering hut with 12 beds. Fresh, cold water right next to the hut.
