Wanted by Monsignor Pier Luigi Speranza bishop of Bergamo (1801 - 1879), the baptistery was built in the spaces once destined to the chapel of S. Rocco, in fact the ancient facade was maintained while the interior, from an irregular square, was brought to shape octagonal by the architect Sonzogni.
The building has a very thickly decorated facade with ancient frescoes, divided into two orders by a cornice covered with tiles.
In the lower order there is the central entrance portal in shaped stone, flanked by two rectangular windows with a stone outline, complete with railings.
