Barnim is a large village located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The first records of it come from the mid-thirteenth century. At that time, the village belonged to the bishops of Kamień. Church of The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, standing in the center of the village, was built in 1531 in the Gothic style.

It is a hall building, on a rectangular plan, built of stone and brick. A large defensive tower, topped with battlements and an octagonal, gothic cupola, adjoins the nave. On the southern facade of the tower there are dates showing the year of construction of the temple and its subsequent renovation and reconstruction: 1531, 1689, 1719, 1820, 1839, 1867, 1891, 1903, 1963.

The church square, which used to be a cemetery, is surrounded by a stone wall. A statue of Jesus stands on a stone plinth at the northern wall of the church. Few people know that the pedestal comes from the monument dedicated to the inhabitants of the villages of Stary and Nowy Przylep who died in World War I. On the other hand, behind the wall of the church, on the south side, there is another fragment of the first-war monument, unfortunately it is not known what village it comes from.

The first mention of the church in Barnim dates back to 1492. It is likely that this is the same church that still stands today, although it has been rebuilt over the years. The most important dates in the history of the church are placed on its tower, but it is not certain what they mean. It is known that the first date, 1531, refers to a fire in the church. The same is true for the date 1905, when the church burned down almost completely. Only the tower survived.

Monument to the villagers who died during World War I. The monument stands by the church wall, on the grounds of a farm.
