There was a bicycle bridge here until around 2019, which is still marked on many tours today. Unfortunately, a ship wanted to steal the bridge and took it with the driver's cab. The bridge to the Kunkemühle was rammed by a barge in 2020 and probably collapsed as a result. A new building is planned, but that will probably take until 2025. If you want to go to the other side of the canal, continue to Hesselte. A great bike path leads right along the canal. The detour is worth it. Very scenic.
