There was a bicycle bridge here until around 2019, which is still marked on many tours today. Unfortunately, a ship wanted to steal the bridge and took it with the driver's cab. It was so badly damaged that it had to be demolished. Although politicians have promised rapid reconstruction, this will probably only remain a promise. But you can easily bypass the bridge.

Cycling

The bridge to the Kunkemühle was rammed by a barge in 2020 and probably collapsed as a result. A new building is planned, but that will probably take until 2025. If you want to go to the other side of the canal, continue to Hesselte. A great bike path leads right along the canal. The detour is worth it. Very scenic.
