In 1862, the Obernburg District Office was formed, and Eichelsbach was located in its administrative area. As everywhere in the German Reich, the term Landkreis was introduced in 1939. Eichelsbach was now one of the 35 communities in the Obernburg am Main district (license plate OBB). On July 1, 1971, the previously independent community of Eichelsbach was incorporated into Elsenfeld. When the Obernburg district was dissolved, Eichelsbach became part of the newly formed Miltenberg district in 1972 (license plate MIL).
