Below the Old Town Hall lies the Lower Market Square, flanked by the traditional inns "Weinhaus Mehling" (outpost Grüner Baum) and "Schönbrunnen". Until 1936, the "Fischbrunnen" (Fish Fountain) stood in the square, which can now be found in Färbergasse. Since the town's 600th anniversary, the "Märchenbrunnen" (Fairy Tale Fountain) by Lohr artist Hermann Amrhein has been bubbling in the Lower Market Square.
