San Benedetto is located in the valley, on the banks of the Belbo river.

In the eleventh century a Benedictine monastery was built in this place, hence the toponym. The writer Beppe Fenoglio, a great lover of this corner of the Langa, cited San Benedetto Belbo in masterpieces such as La Malora and Il partigiano Johnny.
