Cycle route 6 officially passes through this tunnel (450 m) and also through the Solis tunnel (1,100 m). I had discovered a sign near Thusis on the suspension bridge over the Hinterrhein that recommended transporting bikes by train to Tiefenkastel. So you can avoid the two tunnels by train and bike from Thusis to Tiefenkastel or vice versa. The Postbuses operating on this route also take cyclists and their luggage with them.
If you still want to try it: In heavy traffic, the drive will leave a lasting impression! You can only enter the tunnel with a high-visibility vest and a well-lit bicycle. Car and truck drivers are not informed that there is a bicycle route through this tunnel. One should not use the footpath-like hard shoulder, as the SOS boxes protrude dangerously. I strongly advise against driving through the tunnel with children. The Solis tunnel is similar but 1,100 m long.

I rode through this and the other two tunnels on my recumbent bike (trike) and it was no problem at all! I could drive towards Bergün at 20+ km/h with 18 kg of luggage, in the second I was faster than 40 km/h, only in the third I didn't go quite as fast (12 km/h). All the drivers were completely calm, everything was completely safe!!! I would avoid doing it with children because the noise is loud, but bearable. I had my earplugs with me and didn't need them.
