The Temple of Augustus was originally dedicated to the Roma goddess and Emperor Augustus.
The architrave on the front bears the inscription: ROMAE ET AVGUSTO CAESARI DIVI FILIO PATRI PATRIAE. According to the official imperial name, it is known that the temple was built in the period of 2 BC. Built and consecrated.
The temple houses a collection of ancient sculptures from Istria, and imperial statues made of marble.
