The Lagunas de Campillos nature reserve is a set of eleven lagoons that stand out for the variety of their fauna. They are home to birds such as flamingos, herons and coots, as well as certain reptiles and mammals such as foxes, rabbits and weasels. However, the lagoons have a seasonal character and suffer variations in the water level due to drought. When this happens, the vegetation on the banks tends to disappear.
