The hunting lodge can be reached via a detour into the forest path.

The house was built in 1924/25 by the Persian Consul General Karl-Jakob Mayer. He had leased the hunting in Dieburg and built the house so that his game warden Andreas Pertl could live in the area. As a result, the original hunting lodge on the Moret, the site of today's Friends of Nature House, became vacant. It was taken over by the Friends of Nature in 1925.

The Jewish Consul Mayer emigrated in 1933. The city of Dieburg took possession of the house and housed the Nazi organization "Strength through Joy" there. Over the years it has changed hands and concessionaires several times.

The von Hüls family has been trying to renovate the building since 1973 and was able to prevent its demolition. The hunting lodge is now recognized as a cultural monument.

In terms of architectural history, it is a "prefabricated construction" and is related to the timber construction method promoted by Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, which is documented in an exhibition on Darmstadt's Mathildenhöhe. The bourgeois villa architecture of the turn of the century is shown in miniature.

In the 2014 yearbook, the Dieburg local history association describes the building history of the hunting lodge.
