The nature reserve De Twijslermieden is located between the villages of Buitenpost and Twijsel. Mieden is the Frisian word for grassland or hayfield. The Twijslermieden are part of the largest Coulisse landscape in Western Europe. The Northlike Fryske Wâlden. This is a semi-open landscape, characterized by a patchwork of small irregular plots that are protected by hedges or hedges. With more than 2,000 kilometers of hedgerows, hedges and trees, this is the largest bocage landscape in Western Europe.
