The Castle of Mèze, now called "Château de Girard", was built at the end of the 17th century. It is ideally located in the heart of the city. The architecture is classic. In 1793 it belonged to the Ronzier family until 1847, when Frederic de Girard and Angela Ronzier married. The castle remained in the Girard family until 1993, when they sold it to the town of Meze.A huge park landscape surrounds the castle and has particularly tall tree species and Mediterranean plant species.
