The structure is located between the Schleusingen and Eisfeld-Nord motorway junctions near the town of Oberrod and spans the Schleuse valley with the state road 1142 from Oberrod to Waldau at a maximum height of 40 m with ten spans. The motorway overpass is curved in plan. The bridge was built with two separate superstructures between 2005 and 2007.
