In 1944 fascist gangs exterminated and tortured several partisans.
A machine gun was placed by the fascists on the bell tower of Cornalba to kill the partisans who took refuge on Monte Alben.
To keep alive the moral legacy of the partisan struggle, every year, in collaboration with the GL Association of Bergamo, the fallen of the armed struggle are commemorated in the chapel dedicated to them in the churchyard.
